In computing, input/output or I/O (or, informally, io or IO) is the communication between an information processing system, such as a computer, and the outside world. Sound enters the system and after certain transformations becomes the sound that the listener hears.
The project consists of two main components: the piano as an “internal” sound source and recorded speech/voice/soundscape samples. The recordings were made in street situations, in which the acoustic characteristics of a sound were transformed significantly by the context of the environment. Together they build a polyphonic structure.
