Yuri Akbalkan (*1986). Studied composition at the Rimski-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory with prof. Sergei Slonimsky. Participant of festivals “Sound Ways”, “Fin de siècle”, “Exposition XXI”, “Opus 52”, “reMusik”, the “Pythian Games” composers’ competition (2014), collaborates with ESG-21 and “NewTonMusik”.

Studied and/or attended master classes with Victor Ekimovsky (Russia), Boris Filanovsky (Russia-Germany), Olga Viktorova (Russia), Klaus Lang (Austria), Sergei Newski, (Russia-Germany), Johannes Kraidler (Germany), Alfredo Costa Monteiro (Spain), Francesco Filidei (Italy), Philippe Leroux (France).

Works performed by NoName-ensemble, ensemble recherche, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME), MolOt-ensemble, the Gallery of Actual Music Ensemble (GAM-Ensemble), eNsemble PRO ARTE, Ensemble Batida. Participant of the “Electroacoustic Music Lab” since 2014.
